Coal miners work hard to provide electrical energy for our country, but what about their own personal energy? Too often, people have days where they feel wiped out, stressed, or depressed. And that’s not good for anyone—the individual, their family and friends, or even co-workers.
Having Power for Life means you are…
- Happier and in a better mood around others
- Alert, so you can work safely
- Mentally sharper and more creative
- Ready to play with your kids or grandkids
- Up for a long walk or pick-up game with friends
- Less likely to rely on alcohol, sweets, or comfort foods to relax
- Energized without using tobacco, caffeine, or other stimulants
It’s time to take healthy new steps that will boost your energy, so you can enjoy the people and activities that matter most. Start with the CORE 4.
EAT RIGHT. The foods you eat directly influence your energy levels throughout the day. Start with the basics: Avoid fried foods. Eat fewer refined carbohydrates—snack foods, as well as breads and pastas that aren’t whole grain. Eliminate as much added sugar as possible. Build meals around vegetables. Substitute whole fruit for sweets. Drink more water instead of soda or other sweetened drinks.
MOVE IT. Being active throughout the day is essential to staying energized. Even 30+ minutes of daily exercise and eating right won’t cancel the effects of long periods of time spent sitting. You need to get up and move every hour throughout the day as well.
LIVE SMART. Top performers average eight hours of sleep per night. It’s a fact. When you miss an hour of sleep, it decreases your well-being, productivity, health, and ability to think. Learn more about the powerful benefits of a good night’s sleep by watching this short video.
USE A COACH. If you are just tucking your annual HealthCheck results report away, you’re missing out on its true power—the power to improve your health and boost your energy. If your Heart Age is too high and you had a few “FIX” results, stop by your onsite Health Center and learn how HealthCheck90 can help give you energy to power through your day… plus reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke, and many forms of cancer.
